NHS Treatment.

Nobody has a right to NHS treatment at this practice. Patients are accepted and treatment provided at the dentist’s discretion. The dentist will advise you what treatment you require and may suggest alternatives where available, You have the right to decline the treatment suggested but you can’t demand or insist on an alternative. If you want to have different treatment to that which the dentist feels is appropriate, you would be required to pay privately for it.

Free NHS treatment is available to patients who are eligible for free treatment for the following reasons.

1)   In receipt of a qualifying benefit or tax credit.

2)   Are under the age of 18

3)   Are between 18 and 19 years old and are in fulltime education.

4)   Have a valid exemption certificate.

5)     Women who are pregnant, or have had a child in the last 12 months.

In all cases we are required by law to see proof of the reason free treatment is being sought. No exceptions can be made.

NHS treatment is also available to paying patients but given the NHS charging structure, many people will be better off paying privately.

The NHS only provides the minimum treatment that is necessary and sufficient to secure and maintain oral health.

It does not cover:-

1) Cosmetic treatment,

                                2) Treatment which you would like done which is not actually required.

                                3) Advanced treatments where simpler treatment would be sufficient to secure oral health.
